What are the side effects of Tacrolimus Compounded MCT Ophthalmic Solution?
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking tacrolimus with your veterinarian immediately. The most common side effects include burning, stinging and redness in the eye after application. Less commonly hair loss and discoloration around the eye may occur with long term use.
What special precautions are there?
Keep tacrolimus and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Tacrolimus is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Tacrolimus should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. This medication should be handled and administered with disposable gloves.
Overdose of tacrolimus may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435. Always bring the prescription container with you when you take your pet for treatment. Each ml contains: 204.5 mcg of Tacrolimus monohydrate USP equivalent to 200 mcg Tacrolimus, Castor Oil USP 48mg, Polysorbate 80 NF 1.62mg, and Capryllic/Capric Triglycerides (MCT Oil) (q.s.).
Each ml contains: 306.8 mcg of Tacrolimus monohydrate USP equivalent to 300 mcg Tacrolimus, Castor Oil USP 48mg, Polysorbate 80 NF 1.62mg, and Capryllic/Capric Triglycerides (MCT Oil) (q.s.).
Each ml contains: 1.02 mg of Tacrolimus monohydrate USP equivalent to 1 mg Tacrolimus, Castor Oil USP 48mg, Polysorbate 80 NF 1.62mg, and Capryllic/Capric Triglycerides (MCT Oil) (q.s.). Chlorobutanol 5mg/ml as preservative.
