What are the side effects of Budesonide Compounded Tiny Tablet, 1 mg?
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking budesonide with your veterinarian immediately. Side effects of budesonide include stomach upset, increased thirst, increased urine output, increased appetite, and changes in hair coat. Topical preparations containing budesonide (such as transdermal gels, ointments, creams, etc.) may also cause irritation at the site of application.
What special precautions are there?
Keep budesonide and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Budesonide is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Budesonide should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. Budesonide should be used with caution in animals that have gastrointestinal ulcers, active infections, or diabetes.
Overdose of budesonide may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435.
